Wilmington hadn't done well against New Richmond recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Wilmington Hurricane managed a 56-51 win over the New Richmond Lions. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hurricane.

Despite the loss, New Richmond had strong showings from Brady Young, who posted six points and six boards, and Grant Hess, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The match was Hess' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Anthony Wolf, who earned nine points.

Wilmington is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season. As for New Richmond, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilmington will host Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Richmond, they will take on Mt. Healthy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Richmond is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.7 points per game this season.
