The Pace Vikings will head out to challenge the Lopez Lobos at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pace will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
While Pace's win against Edcouch-Elsa wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings' pitcher stepped up to hand the Yellowjackets a 1-0 shutout on Friday. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Vikings have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Nubia Alvarado
| 03/27/26 vs Edcouch-Elsa | 5 |
| 03/24/26 @ Harlingen South | 9 |
| 03/19/26 vs Weslaco East | 9 |
| 03/17/26 vs Mercedes | 8 |
| 03/13/26 vs Rivera | 13 |
| + 11 more games |
The result came thanks to Nubia Alvarado's shutout, as she gave up just two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, Lopez gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out Rivera 13-12.
Chalene Granado spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and seven unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Brooklyn Croastan was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Cayley Granado was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one double.
Lopez's victory bumped their record up to 12-7-1. As for Pace, their win bumped their record up to 22-0-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pace hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .403. However, it's not like Lopez struggles in that department as they've averaged .339. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pace got the 'W' when the teams last played back in February against Lopez by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
