Maloney is on a six-game streak of home losses, Platt a 14-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Maloney Spartans will take on the Platt Panthers at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Maloney came up short against Plainville and fell 40-33.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-21, which was the final score in Platt's tilt against Berlin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Platt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while Berlin is ranked 30th).
Maloney's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Platt, their loss dropped their record down to 1-17.
Maloney couldn't quite finish off Platt in their previous matchup back in February of 2022 and fell 37-35. Can Maloney avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
