Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Quitman Panthers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were the victim of a rough 27-7 defeat at the hands of Pass Christian on Friday. Quitman's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Pass Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacquez Alexander-dedeaux out in front who rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Terry Patton Jr also helped out with an impressive 95 receiving yards.
Quitman's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Pass Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Quitman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pass Christian will square off against Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Columbia is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
