Softball Recap: Xavier College Prep Wins Going Away Against Corona Del Sol

Xavier College Prep never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Corona del Sol Aztecs. Considering the Gators have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Xavier College Prep let Sariah McNabb and Riley McKeever run wild. McNabb got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while McKeever went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles. That's the most RBI McKeever has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sydney Root, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Xavier College Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Corona del Sol only posted an OBP of .118.

Xavier College Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Corona del Sol and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Xavier College Prep will have a chance to go back-to-back against Corona del Sol: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
