Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 84-61 margin over Imagine Prep. The victory was familiar territory for Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way who now have 11 in a row.
Malachi Long continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 4 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Kaleel Johns was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Imagine Prep's loss came despite strong showings from Jaylen Cassidy and Hayden Kelton. Cassidy scored 22 points along with five assists and two steals, while Kelton scored 18 points. Cassidy is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Richard Rodriguez, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way pushed their record up to 16-1 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.93 points. As for Imagine Prep, their defeat ended a 16-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way will take on Dream City Christian Open at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Imagine Prep, they will be playing at home against West Phoenix at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Phoenix is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
