Riley Picinich spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Freedom saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashleigh Bronowicz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Osbourn, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over Mount Vernon on Wednesday. Considering the Eagles have won three contests by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Osbourn also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: MacKenzie Fitterer gave up only one earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Those hits were Fitterer's first of the season.
On the hitting side, Osbourn got a massive performance out of Tristyn Kershner, who scored three runs while going 2-for-5. Another player making a difference was Cailynn White, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI.
Osbourn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mount Vernon only managed eight hits.
Osbourn moved to 3-4 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Freedom, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-7.
Everything went Freedom's way against Osbourn in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Freedom made off with an 18-2 win. Does Freedom have another victory up their sleeve, or will Osbourn turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
