After two games on the road, Burgard is heading back home. They will take on the City Honors Centaurs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Burgard knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully the Centaurs like a good challenge.
Burgard scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Riverside 74-42 on the road. That 32 point margin sets a new team best for Burgard this season.
Meanwhile, City Honors entered their tilt with the Frontiers with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. City Honors walked away with a 54-42 win over the Frontiers back in January. Given City Honors' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Frontiers are ranked 728th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Burgard's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for City Honors, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Burgard beat the Centaurs 54-45 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Does Burgard have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Centaurs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
