The Timnath Cubs's found some homefield redemption this week after a tough overtime loss to the Platte Valley Broncos on Thursday. Timnath took down Frontier Academy 65-47. With that victory, Timnath brought their scoring average up to 51.2 points per game.
Timnath's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Jacobson, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Hamlin, who scored 16 points.
Frontier Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lucas Carmichael, who scored 20 points along with two steals, and Jackson Steward who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 34% of Frontier Academy's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Crabree, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Timnath's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Frontier Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.
Timnath will head out on the road to take on Loveland Classical at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Loveland Classical has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 814 points over their last 11 matches. As for Frontier Academy, they will be playing at home against Strasburg at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Strasburg is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
