Baseball Game Preview: Camp Hill Lions vs. Milton Hershey Spartans

Camp Hill is 9-1 against Milton Hershey since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lions will face off against the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. Camp Hill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Seven must be Camp Hill's lucky number: they beat Middletown with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Lions beat the Blue Raiders by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-1. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Blue Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

John Waldner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Drew Branstetter was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Camp Hill is 6-2 when Branstetter posts two or more runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Hayden Ziegler also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Milton Hershey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They came up short against Lebanon, falling 12-1.

Camp Hill's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Milton Hershey, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-15.

Milton Hershey's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Camp Hill has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Milton Hershey, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Camp Hill keep running through batters, or will the Spartans buck the trend?

Camp Hill took their victory against Milton Hershey in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
