Leah Helton made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sylvia Mudis, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since May 2nd. Hadley Bray was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run.
Meanwhile, Noblesville entered their tilt with Fishers on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Tigers.
The result came thanks to Addison Retzinger's shutout, as she gave up just two hits.
At the plate, Brookelyn Grayson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Haley Schatko, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Noblesville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fishers only posted a batting average of .087.
Zionsville's record now sits at 21-4. As for Noblesville, their record is now 18-7.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Zionsville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343. However, it's not like Noblesville struggles in that department as they've averaged .344. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
