There's no place like home for the Hollins Royals, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 43-18 margin over Shorecrest Prep. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Hollins has posted yet this season.
Hollins found their leader in underclassman Summer Morgan, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Morgan has scored at least a third of Hollins' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Danaja Moss, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Hollins' victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Shorecrest Prep, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hollins will take on St. Petersburg Catholic at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Elise Graham and Morgan. As for Shorecrest Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Clearwater Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. Clearwater Central Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
