Bridgeport Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mikayla Kendrick out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Kendrick scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Kiara Clarke, who scored four points along with 12 rebounds and six steals.
Shelton's loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Bridgeport Central, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Shelton will head out on the road to face off against Career Magnet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bridgeport Central, they will be playing at home against Norwalk at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
