After each having a week off, the Cranston West Falcons and the Cranston East Thunderbolts will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (Cranston West is ranked 11th, while Cranston East is ranked 29th).
Two weeks ago, Cranston West was able to grind out a solid win over Woonsocket, taking the game 21-14. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cranston West.
Kelan Cornell was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 119 yards and a touchdown. Cranston West also got a significant boost from Anthony Salas, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.
Meanwhile, Cranston East fell victim to East Greenwich's stalwart defense two weeks ago and couldn't make it onto the board. Their rough 20-0 defeat to the Avengers might stick with them for a while. Cranston East just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Cranston West's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Cranston East, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-9.
Cranston West was able to grind out a solid victory over Cranston East in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, winning 35-26. Will Cranston West repeat their success, or does Cranston East have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
