The Rolla Bulldogs waltzed into their matchup Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Southern Boone 76-23 at home. Considering Rolla has won four games by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Rolla's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rylee Dodson, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Akaela Caquelin was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Rolla pushed their record up to 8-1 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.3 points. As for Southern Boone, they have fallen quite a ways from their 22-11 record last season and are now at 3-5.
Rolla won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Grain Valley at 4:30 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Southern Boone will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Hermann at 7:30 p.m. on January 2nd. Hermann presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Southern Boone in Missouri (Hermann is ranked 60th, while Southern Boone is ranked 225th).
