The Farmville Central Jaguars are taking a road trip to face off against the Tarboro Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Farmville Central will bounce into Friday's game after beating Beddingfield, who they had gone 0-7 against in their seven prior meetings. The Jaguars blew past the Bruins, posting a 42-0 win. The Jaguars' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Farmville Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was BJ Gardner out in front who rushed for 66 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 109 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. Gardner has become a key player for the Jaguars: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Carlnell Cotton was another key player, gaining 141 total yards and a touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Farmville Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 280 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 182 rushing yards in 11 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Tarboro put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 56-16 win over Greene Central. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Vikings' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Rams are ranked 199th).
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Kamerin McDowell-Moore and Caiden Everette. McDowell-Moore gained 177 total yards and three touchdowns while Everette rushed for 118 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries. McDowell-Moore's longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
One reason for the win was Tarboro's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Tyler Powell was especially locked on to Greene Central's QB and sacked him twice.
Tarboro's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Farmville Central, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Farmville Central has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 265 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Tarboro struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 333.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground. Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other football content.
