Whitehaven (Memphis, Tenn.) didn't let up as Saturday's game came to a close, scoring seven in the fourth quarter to seal a 23-0 victory over
Memphis East (Memphis, Tenn.).
The Tigers were up 14-0 at the half after taking the lead on a
Mark Dodson Jr. touchdown run in the first quarter.
Whitehaven expanded its lead to 16 points entering the fourth quarter. WHS scored once in the quarter on a safety.
The Tigers' standout player in the win was Dodson Jr. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns.
Whitehaven went into the matchup giving up only 9.9 points per game. The zero points that the Mustangs ended with were well below their average of 16.2 coming into the game.
When the two teams played each other last season, WHS came away with a 20-7 victory.
