Aiken is 1-9 against the Bulldogs since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Aiken Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Woodward Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Aiken's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine contests.
Last Friday, Aiken made easy work of the Tigers and carried off a 57-35 win. Given Aiken's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Tigers are ranked 321st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Aiken's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Burnett, who scored 18 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Antonio Hutcherson jr, who scored 12 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Woodward entered their tilt with the Mustangs with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Woodward skirted past the Mustangs 69-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Aiken's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. As for Woodward, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
Aiken came up short against the Bulldogs in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 74-66. Can Aiken avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
