The Trezevant Bears waltzed into their match on Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They took down Douglass 62-46. That's another feather in the cap for Trezevant, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Trezevant was led to victory by CIARA THOMAS and SHELBY GRAY. THOMAS scored eight points along with 16 rebounds and five blocks, while GRAY dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. GRAY has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last six times she's played. MARISSA WILLIAMS was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Trezevant is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Douglass, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing KIPP Collegiate the next time they take the court. Douglass will head out to face KIPP Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Trezevant will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
