Softball Recap: Lebanon Extends Winning Streak to Six

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lebanon had no problem doing just that on Monday. Everything went their way against the Sycamore Aviators as they made off with a 16-0 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Ella Tuebner and Sophie Abrams did most of the damage at the plate: Tuebner went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Abrams went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Abrams a new career-high. Jane Leuzinger was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Lebanon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sycamore only posted an OBP of .263.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Lebanon, bringing their record up to 17-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Sycamore, their loss dropped their record down to 11-14.

Looking ahead, Lebanon will challenge Lakota East at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thunderhawks have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. Sycamore does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
