Rising Sun has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Elkton Golden Elks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Rising Sun is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Maryland (they are ranked 62nd, while Elkton is ranked 254th).
Rising Sun was handed a 21-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Harford Tech on Monday. Rising Sun skirted past Harford Tech 54-51. The victory was just what Rising Sun needed coming off of a 48-27 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Elkton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 56-31 walloping at the hands of C. Milton Wright. Elkton has struggled against C. Milton Wright recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Rising Sun is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Elkton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
Everything went Rising Sun's way against Elkton when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as Rising Sun made off with a 63-43 win. Will Rising Sun repeat their success, or does Elkton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
