Basketball Recap: Daniel Sets Scoring Season-High Against Franklin County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Daniel). They strolled past the Franklin County Lions with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 83-66. The win was familiar territory for Daniel who have now won three games in a row.

Leading Daniel to victory were Jackson Conley and Tristyn Carrington. Conley almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards, while Carrington went 7 of 12 on his way to 17 points along with eight assists and five boards. Those 25 points gave Conley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Simms Disbrow, who posted 14 points and seven assists.

Daniel's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.8 points per game. As for Franklin County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Daniel will head out to square off against Walhalla at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Franklin County, they will venture away from home to challenge Cherokee Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cherokee Bluff knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Franklin County likes a good challenge.
