The West Haven Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Newtown Nighthawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (West Haven is ranked sixth, while Newtown is ranked 11th).
After a string of five wins, West Haven's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 21-13 to North Haven.
Although West Haven took the loss, they still got scores from Armani Reid and Camren Kemp.
Meanwhile, Newtown put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Weston 42-7 at home. With Newtown ahead 42-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Among those leading the charge was Jayden Cordova, who threw for 169 yards and four touchdowns on only nine passes. J.j. Haddick was another key contributor, gaining 62 total yards and two touchdowns.
West Haven's loss dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Newtown, their victory was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-0.
West Haven came up short against Newtown in their previous meeting back in September of 2019, falling 21-14. Can West Haven avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
