The Hot Springs County Bobcats had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against Moorcroft as Hot Springs County made off with a 48-26 win. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as Hot Springs County did.
Hot Springs County can attribute much of their success to Dazlynn Hunt , who scored 11 points along with seven steals. Another player making a difference was Jayssie Owsley, who scored 11 points.
Despite the loss, Moorcroft still got an impressive performance from Natalee Scribner, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Hot Springs County's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Moorcroft, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Hot Springs County will be playing in front of their home fans against Southeast at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Southeast is ranked 15th, while Hot Springs County is ranked 34th). As for Moorcroft, they will face off against Lingle-Fort Laramie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lingle-Fort Laramie focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
