Despite the loss, Hedgesville saw an underclassman step up: Gracie Brown dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Brown hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Maggie Boyer was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Jefferson's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-13. As for Hedgesville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Jefferson will be playing at home against the Gael at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Goretti is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Hedgesville, they will take on the Applemen at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
