Steinmetz College Prep couldn't beat Disney II on Wednesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the sixth inning. The Silver Streaks fell just short of the Titans by a score of 11-10.
Angie Lebron was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Deja Kirk was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Steinmetz College Prep has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Schurz, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Steinmetz College Prep's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Schurz hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .407. It's a different story for Steinmetz College Prep, though, as they've only averaged .195. Will they be able to contain Schurz's hitters?
