It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Tolar Rattlers had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 60-0 victory over Cayuga. Considering Tolar has won 11 games by more than 22 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Tolar had a senior duo take command as Garrison Nation rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries and Isaac Blessing threw for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes. Nation really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run. Another player making a difference was Peyton Brown, who rushed for 50 yards and two touchdowns.
The victory was the ninth in a row for Tolar, bringing their record for this year to 11-1. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 46.44 points. As for Cayuga, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Tolar will square off against Italy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Italy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 646th, while Tolar is ranked 224th). Cayuga does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
