Melrose posted their closest win since February 15th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Jal Panthers, sneaking past 31-28. Those 31 points were actually the fewest the Buffaloes have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Shylynn Downey and Cassie Hawkins, who each put up nine points. Teagan Greenwalt held things down on the boards with ten rebounds.

Melrose has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Jal, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Melrose has already played their next contest, a 57-28 defeat against Farwell on the 19th. As for Jal, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 39-28 victory against Legacy Academy on the 19th.
