The Warner Christian Academy Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They came out on top against First Baptist Christian Academy by a score of 89-76. The win was some much needed relief for Warner Christian Academy as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Warner Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Christian Nicholas, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nicholas has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Flores, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds.
First Baptist Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jayden McCoy, who scored 27 points along with nine rebounds. McCoy is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Solomon Williams was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds.
Even though they lost, First Baptist Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The victory got Warner Christian Academy back to even at 8-8. As for First Baptist Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Warner Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge Crooms Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for First Baptist Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Halifax Academy at 6:00 p.m.
