The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will face off against the Geneseo Blue Devils at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Notre Dame comes in on three and Geneseo on 12.
Notre Dame is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over South Seneca. Considering the Fighting Irish have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Chase Antinore made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Those 15 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liam Berger, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adyn Horzempa, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Notre Dame kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Geneseo made easy work of Lyons on Friday and carried off a 13-4 win. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by eight runs or more this season.
Like Notre Dame, Geneseo also got a great game from a two-way player: Tyler Churchfield. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Churchfield has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Cooper Warner was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Oren Ray was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Geneseo pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Notre Dame, their record now sits at 15-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Sunday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Notre Dame has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Geneseo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Notre Dame couldn't quite finish off Geneseo in their previous meeting on May 8th and fell 5-3. Can the Fighting Irish avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
