The Curtis Baptist Crusaders were able to grind out a solid win over the Ridge Christian Academy Paladins on Friday, taking the game 61-53.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Curtis Baptist to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brayden Husband, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 16 boards. Husband has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kingsly Shine, who posted 20 points.

When it comes to explaining why Ridge Christian Academy lost, don't look at Deron Huff. Despite the final result, he had 31 points and seven rebounds. JW Fowler was another key player, putting up nine points.

Curtis Baptist now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Ridge Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Curtis Baptist and Bible Baptist Christian will face off at 12:40 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played.
