Softball Recap: Woodbridge Sets Scoring Season-High Against Northwood

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodbridge). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Northwood Timberwolves a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Payton Harris, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Seli Yamamoto also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Woodbridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northwood only posted a batting average of .000.

Woodbridge's record is now 6-8-1. As for Northwood, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Woodbridge is set to face off against their familiar foe University at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 3.6, the Trojans 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Northwood will square off against rival Rosary Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
