The Springville Red Devils will venture away from home to square off against the West Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Springville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully West likes a good challenge.
Springville is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Hunter: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Red Devils blew the Wolverines out of the water with an 87-21 final score. The Red Devils pushed the score to 73-17 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolverines had no chance of recovering from.

Springville can attribute much of their success to Sam Nadauld, who shot 86% from the field on his way to 15 points along with five boards and three steals, and Jamyn Sondrup, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. Sondrup's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Hansen, who posted 13 points.
Springville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, West lost to Wasatch on the road by a 67-53 margin on Monday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Springville will have to contain Elijah Albertson as he made an impact in West's last game. He went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc to rack up 26 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. Thanks to that strong game, Albertson now owns an excellent 46.7% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Matthew Fox, who scored ten points.
West's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Springville, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Keep an eye on the arc in Wednesday's game: Springville has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 38.5% of their threes per game. It's a different story for West, though, as they've only made 27.6% of their three-pointers this season. Given Springville's sizable advantage in that area, the Panthers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything came up roses for Springville against West in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, as the team secured an 82-49 win. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
