After a string of three wins, the Calvary Christian Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 61-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Berkeley Prep. While losing is never fun, Calvary Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while Berkeley Prep is ranked 33rd).
Despite the loss, Calvary Christian still got an impressive performance from Ace Taylor, who scored 31 points along with five rebounds. Ethan Sabec was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Calvary Christian's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Berkeley Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.
Calvary Christian will stay at home for another game and welcome Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Berkeley Prep will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Westminster Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Westminster Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 19 games -- so hopefully Berkeley Prep likes a good challenge.
