The Buffalo Bison's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Providence Academy Lions at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Buffalo will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 171st, while Providence Academy is ranked second).
Buffalo suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 74-17 loss at the hands of Minnetonka. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Buffalo in their matchups with Minnetonka: they've now lost nine in a row.
Meanwhile, Providence Academy entered their tilt with Minnehaha Academy with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Providence Academy walked away with a 98-90 victory over Minnehaha Academy on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Providence Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maddyn Greenway out in front who dropped a triple-double on 21 points, 17 rebounds, and 13 assists. Greenway is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Ari Peterson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds.
Buffalo's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-13. As for Providence Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 14-2.
