If The Sabine Cardinals were feeling good off their 70-12 takedown of the White Oak Roughnecks last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Sabine was beaten by Jefferson 56-21 on Friday. Sabine was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
When it comes to explaining why Sabine lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cade Silvertooth. Despite the final result, he rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns. Silvertooth is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Among those leading the charge was Kamran Williams, who rushed for 166 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 26 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Williams has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tihmyus Taylor, who threw for 285 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes.
Sabine has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Jefferson, their win was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 7-2.
Sabine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jefferson will face off against Pottsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pottsboro has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 134 points over their last three games.
