West Mesa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Mayfield Trojans, falling 3-0. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Kina Dodge paced West Mesa's offense, picking up seven kills. Dodge got some help from Isabella Garcia and her 17 assists. Jayleen Martinez controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Mayfield can attribute much of their success to Alexa Chavez, who had nine digs and five assists. Those nine digs gave Chavez a new career-high.
West Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Mayfield, their win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3.
Coming up, West Mesa will square off against Organ Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mayfield, they will challenge Atrisco Heritage Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
