3A Region I District 8 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Liberty Hill's Jadon Durity Boatright rumbled for the longest rushing play in 3A Region I District 8 this season in his game against Rockdale last week. Durity Boatright ran for 66 yards on the play and finished with 152 on the day as his team bested the Tigers.
Gatesville extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Taylor, 35-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Hornets.
Liberty Hill's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brandon Wells threw for 54 and two touchdowns and Joseph Dudgeon had 29 yards receiving. On the ground Jesse Perez chipped in 199 yards.
Liberty Hill's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Wells has thrown for 97 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Austin Steed has two catches for 36 yards. Perez leads the league in rushing with 621 yards.
Jerry Vance's team was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in 3A Region I District 8. Earlier in the week, the Panthers defeated Rockdale 76-35.
