The Lovelady Lions were the 54-49 winner over the Normangee Panthers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Lovelady fell 53-44 to Normangee on Friday.
Normangee got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Pj Edwards out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Edwards is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dallas Jones, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Lovelady's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-2. As for Normangee, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Lovelady will be home for the holidays to greet Cushing at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Normangee, they will head out on the road to face off against North Zulch at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. North Zulch has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
