Pender can finally bid farewell to their 13-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Saturday. They walked away with a 56-44 win over the Hobbton Wildcats. The Patriots' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Pender's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Howell led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Howell is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Ricky Armstrong was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Pender was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Hobbton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Richard Simpson, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Amir Tate, who put up ten points.

Pender's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Hobbton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Pender didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-47 defeat against East Bladen on the 3rd. As for Hobbton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-49 win against Princeton on the 3rd.
