It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Worth County/Northeast Nodaway Tigers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 70-16 victory over Schuyler County. The victory was familiar territory for Worth County/Northeast Nodaway who now have 11 in a row.
Tyler New continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 117 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 103 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Landon Wilmes, who rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Schuyler County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Elliot Sevits, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown, and Mayson Humphrey who picked up 119 receiving yards and a touchdown. Humphrey has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more receiving yards the last six times he's played.
Worth County/Northeast Nodaway's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Schuyler County, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
Worth County/Northeast Nodaway is on the road again on Friday and play against South Holt. One thing working in South Holt's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. Schuyler County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
