Willows (Calif.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat
East Nicolaus (Nicolaus, Calif.), 41-14, on Saturday.
The Honkers were up 27-0 at the half after taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter.
Willows expanded its lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. WHS's lone score in the quarter came on a rushing touchdown.
Geoffrey Bateman was the top performer for the Honkers. The junior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
Andrew Sills played well for the Spartans. The senior ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored nine touchdowns on the season.
Willows had given up an average of 17.2 points prior to the contest. The 14 points that East Nicolaus ended with were well below its average of 26.1 coming into the game.
The win was a nice bounce back for WHS, which lost to Pierce last week, 14-7.
