The Redmond Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 75-36 loss at the hands of Bothell. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Redmond in their matchups with Bothell: they've now lost eight in a row.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Natalie West, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Yuki Willis, who scored ten points.
Bothell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but McKylee Hawkins led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Hawkins set a new season high mark in steals with five. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Peterson, who scored 15 points.
Redmond has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Bothell, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Redmond will square off against Bothell/Inglemoor at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Bothell/Inglemoor's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Redmond has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Bothell, they will take on Mount Si at 7:17 p.m. on Wednesday.
