The San Benito Greyhounds put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Los Fresnos as San Benito made off with a 38-14 win. Considering San Benito has won seven games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Los Fresnos' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Robert Pineda, who threw for 150 yards and two touchdowns. Lucky Perales was another key contributor, picking up 98 receiving yards and a touchdown.
San Benito's victory was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.1 points per game. As for Los Fresnos, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
San Benito will be playing in front of their home fans against Weslaco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Weslaco has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 156 points over their last four games. As for Los Fresnos, they will head out on the road to face off against Harlingen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Harlingen is ranked 446th, while Los Fresnos is ranked 435th).
