Dennis Pierre was his usual excellent self, shooting 7-for-11 from deep and dropping a double-double on 35 points and ten assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Sports Leadership & Management's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Gonzalez, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Somerset Academy Key pushed their score all the way to 63 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a rough 84-63 defeat at the hands of Dr. Joaquin Garcia. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (55), Somerset Academy Key still had to take the loss.
Sports Leadership & Management's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Somerset Academy Key, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-16.
Things could have been worse for Sports Leadership & Management, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 78-61 loss to the Lions when the teams last played last Friday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Somerset Academy Key's Nick Achille, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. Now that Sports Leadership & Management knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
