Even though the Belmont Bison scored an imposing 55 points on Saturday, the Linden-McKinley Panthers still came out on top. Linden-McKinley managed a 60-55 win over Belmont. The win made it back-to-back wins for Linden-McKinley.
When it comes to explaining why Belmont lost, one person who can't be blamed is Damarion Calahan. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals. Calahan scored a full 32.7% of Belmont's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Denzell Ogle was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Linden-McKinley now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Belmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Linden-McKinley will take on Mifflin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Mifflin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Saturday. As for Belmont, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Stivers School for the Arts at 7:30 p.m. Stivers School for the Arts and Belmont are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
