McDowell is 10-0 against Erwin since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The McDowell Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Erwin Warriors at 8:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (McDowell has five straight victories, Erwin has 11 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
McDowell stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 62-38 margin over Asheville. Given McDowell's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Asheville is ranked 331st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
McDowell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rylan Parkins led the charge by scoring 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Olivo, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Erwin pushed their score all the way to 63 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The match between them and A.C. Reynolds wasn't particularly close, with Erwin falling 81-63.
McDowell is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Erwin, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-15.
McDowell took their victory against Erwin when the teams last played last Wednesday by a conclusive 85-63. Does McDowell have another victory up their sleeve, or will Erwin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
