Dixon has gone 9-1 against Casa Roble recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. Dixon will head out on the road to challenge Casa Roble at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Dixon had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 22-run drubbing they dealt Natomas on Tuesday. The Rams' pitcher stepped up to hand the Nighthawks a 22-0 shutout.
Dakota Gaball made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Gomez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Itzel Cuellar also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Casa Roble waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 26-6 win.
Cassandra Alvarez looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, Zaria Gee was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, eight RBI, and four runs. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Alyssa Godwin was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Casa Roble always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Dixon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Casa Roble, they pushed their record up to 11-5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dixon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .429. However, it's not like Casa Roble struggles in that department as they've averaged .424. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dixon couldn't quite finish off Casa Roble when the teams last played back in March and fell 4-2. Can Dixon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
