Opp has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Daleville Warhawks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Opp focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 41 on Saturday.
Opp suffered their biggest defeat since January 4th on Saturday. They were dealt a 58-30 defeat at the hands of Elba. While losing is never fun, Opp can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 419th, while Elba is ranked 150th).
Despite the loss, Opp saw an underclassman step up: Dionna Stoudemire scored seven points along with eight rebounds. Stoudemire is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played.
Meanwhile, Daleville had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Pike County on Friday and snuck past 29-26. The win was just what Daleville needed coming off of a 74-25 defeat in their prior matchup.
Opp's defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Daleville, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-11.
Opp strolled past Daleville in their previous matchup last Friday by a score of 55-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Opp since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
