The St. David Tigers will be taking part in a tournament against the Flowing Wells Caballeros at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. St. David will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
St. David's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Baboquivari 16-0. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won three contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Paisley Gooding was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero hits, the fewest she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Austyn Hatch, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Emelynn Jacquez was another key player, scoring four runs while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Flowing Wells, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Maricopa on Wednesday, sneaking past 8-6. The win was some much needed relief for the Caballeros as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Like St. David, Flowing Wells also got a great game from a two-way player: Eleana Parsons. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Parsons was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Yesenia Solano was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kristen Felix, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
St. David's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.4 runs. As for Flowing Wells, their record is now 4-7.
Flowing Wells' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. St. David has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Flowing Wells, though, as they've been averaging only 3 strikeouts. Will St. David keep running through batters, or will Flowing Wells buck the trend?
St. David suffered a grim 11-4 defeat to Flowing Wells in their previous matchup back in March of 2018. Can St. David avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
